The Rhins peninsula, reaching into the Irish Sea west of Stranraer, offers genuine quietness and access to a quieter stretch of Scotland's coast. Heatherview Cottage sits among fields here, a detached property sleeping 5 across three bedrooms and two bathrooms, all on one level. The area remains largely undeveloped, making it suitable for anyone wanting to step back from busier routes, yet Stranraer itself is within reach for supplies and services.

The cottage provides a full kitchen with gas hob and electric oven, a living room with Freeview TV and DVD player, and an enclosed garden with patio and sitting area where a barbecue is available. Bedrooms split into a double with ensuite shower, two singles, and a further single; the main bathroom has both bath and shower. Oil heating and electricity are included, as are bed linen and towels. A garage holds bikes and equipment, and the property has parking for three cars. The building is no-smoking throughout.

Families and groups will find the ground-floor layout practical. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. Walking and driving bring you to coastal paths, quiet beaches, and the particular character of this western peninsula—temperate enough for unexpected plant life, but remote enough to feel genuinely removed from standard holiday routes.

What a wonderful place! Isolated, yes, but perfect. It has everything you need. Very comfy beds. Washing machine very efficient on a short wash. Dishwasher. We loved seeing the House Martins building their nests under the garage eaves . Deer and Hares in the fields. Accessibility: Wheelchair slope, wide doorways, wide doors, but both showers have a 'stepover' so you need to be ambulatory. No Wi-fi, but a very good mobile data signal. We loved it, I cried when we had to leave.
