Stranraer and the surrounding Dumfries and Galloway countryside hold plenty to explore—from coastal walks to nearby historic sites—and Home Farm - The Hawthorns gives you a comfortable base within reach of it all. This stone cottage sits on its own grounds with an enclosed front garden and can accommodate 10 people across four bedrooms (three with king beds and en-suite showers, one with four single beds) and two further bathrooms. One pet is welcome.

The main living space centres on a sitting room with an open fire and smart TV, while the kitchen and dining area have everything needed for cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer means you can manage a longer stay without the laundry piling up. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included. Three parking spaces are available on site, and the private hot tub seats six, positioned to make the most of the garden. The cottage is no-smoking throughout.

This works well for larger groups or extended families wanting separate space to retreat to while sharing communal areas. Check-in is after 15:00 and checkout before 10:00.

Just back from an amazing long weekend with family here. Lots of space and grounds for us. Great memories made here. Very accommodating manager Stewart and wife lorna who were so helpful. Anything we needed they would help and any information about the area or animals they were keen to chat even though so busy on the farm. What made it even more special was the cows were giving birth to calfs all through the weekend and we managed to witness one giving birth. Something we will always remember. We had hot tub, games room and outdoor area plus shared football pitch and trampoline! Fantastic! We will absolutely 100% be back and I couldn't recommend this farmhouse enough.

Brilliant accommodation for a large family with mixed ages would highly recommend it. Hot tub, pool table, PS4 and sauna kept the kids and adults amused all day and evening. Massive TV in the lounge for the Scotland game kept men happy to,will definitely be back at some point

Booked The Stables @Home Farm for a week of family gathering and chilling. Different family members could only make different days, but there were three days when we were all together and the house was fabulous for that. Everybody had so much space and the lounge was a great social place. The star of the show as most definitely the hot tub and the Jacuzzi bath a close 2nd! The open plan kitchen and the dining room were great for mingling and chatting. The ice-maker freezer was a great feature and well used. Cooking and washing facilities were ideal/ Plenty of cutlery, crockery and glassware. The house pretty much contained all we need for our party of 8 (and Paisley Pooch!). Great location and easy to travel into Stranraer, Portpatrick and Newton Stewart. We visited all of them and also spent a day at Logan Gardens - wonderful! Stuart was a great host and ensured all was well for our stay. We would not hesitate (and certainly will) book again. Thank You
