Families and groups of up to six will find Pine Cottage works well as a base for exploring the Dumfries and Galloway coast. The house stands on substantial grounds near Castle Douglas, with the sandy beach at Sandhead just a short walk away. The village itself has a restaurant, pub and shop within reach, and the wider area draws walkers to everything from clifftop trails to the Galloway Hills inland.
Three bedrooms and two bathrooms spread across a single floor make the layout straightforward. The open-plan living space has a television and doors out to the garden, while the kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals—it has an oven, hob, dishwasher and freezer space. Bed linen, towels and wi-fi are provided; heating and electricity are included in your stay.
The Mull of Galloway, Scotland's southernmost point, lies within reach for those interested in seals, seabirds and long-distance views across to Ireland and England. Portpatrick sits nearby as the start of the Southern Upland Way, one of Scotland's most walked long-distance paths. Castle Kennedy Gardens and Logan Botanic Garden offer quieter days out. The Galloway Forest Park, designated a Dark Sky Park, has walking trails and wildlife. One dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted inside.
