Summergate Cottage

Summergate Cottage works well for couples, small families, or friends looking for a self-contained base in southwest Scotland. The ground-floor layout means everything is on one level: a living and dining room with a woodburner, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, two bedrooms (one with a king bed, one with singles), and a shower room. Bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with logs for the stove and a welcome pack. An enclosed garden with seating overlooks the Solway coastline, and the property has parking for two cars on site. Note that no children under 5 are accepted, and one dog may stay provided it remains on a lead.

The cottage sits on a quiet lane within walking distance of Annan, where pubs, restaurants and a cinema serve the town. The surrounding area holds castles and historic sites, cliff-top walks and sandy beaches within reach, while golfers will find courses along the coast. Powfoot, established as a bathing resort in the 1790s, lies nearby with its own links course. July brings the Riding of the Marches, a procession of over 100 horses through Annan's streets. The nearest beach is 3 miles away; local shops, a pub and dining are 1 mile off.
