Ground floor living means everything spreads across one level at Uplands. You enter into an open-plan space that combines lounge, dining and kitchen—the wood burner anchors the main room, where a 43-inch smart TV, soundbar and cinema surround system make it equally suited to quiet evenings or gathering the group. The kitchen has electric oven and hob, dishwasher and microwave. Three bedrooms branch off: the first has a zip-and-link super king (or two singles on request), while the other two contain zip-and-link single beds that reconfigure to super kings if needed. Two bathrooms serve the property—one a wet room with walk-in shower, the other with bath and shower over. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with initial logs for the burner.

The cottage sits on the quieter edge of Dumfries, far enough to feel removed but close enough to reach the town centre, cafés and shops on foot. A lawned courtyard garden has sitting areas and a BBQ, plus on-site parking for one car. The 7Stanes mountain bike trail at Dalbeattie and Mabie Forest are nearby for those wanting serious outdoor days, while the area offers walking routes, water sports, golf and riding. No smoking throughout.
