About Travelodge Dundee Strathmore Avenue

Travelers after a no-fuss, affordable stopover in Dundee will find Travelodge Dundee Strathmore Avenue does the job well, particularly those travelling with dogs or arriving by car. Free on-site parking is available at the front, rear and side of the hotel, though spaces are first-come, first-served, and pets are welcome throughout.

The hotel has 68 rooms spread across five floors, each with an en-suite bathroom and drinks available in-room, plus accessible rooms and a lift for those who need them. There's a bar and restaurant on site for a straightforward meal or drink without having to head out, and an electric vehicle charge point for those driving hybrid or electric cars. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and rooms are kept warm, though some visitors have found the standard of upkeep inconsistent and noted the hotel can feel understaffed at busier times.

The location gives easy access to Dundee city centre and to castles in the surrounding area, with a pub, restaurant and other eateries nearby for evenings out. Golf, fishing and entertainment options are also within reach, making this a practical choice for those combining a city visit with time outdoors.

Looks a bit grotty from outside but the rooms are clean and spacious. Staff were lovely and super helpful. Good offer of food and drink in the bar and 24h pizza available. Key cards required to enter so feels safe as well.

The outside of the Hotel looks like an abandoned building, inside slightly better. The service was excellent, the ladies at the desk were soo bubbly and charming, attentive and helpful. The room we were in was okay-ish, there were some stains on the carpets, the bed was squeaky on every little move, the halls smell of cigarette smoke but the linen and towels seemed reasonably clean. ONLY 30 MINS OF FREE WIFI THOUGH 🤯…… daylight robbery. Had to rely on my mobile phone Data (which thankfully was quick enough) but to me WIFI is as basic as having a bed. Definitely needs to be advertised more clearly. I would be avoiding Travel Lodge. Great staff but horrible facilities!!!!

It is a Travelodge, so absolutely fine for a place to lay a weary body horizontal, cleanse it in the morning and get off, showered and rested to face the day's activities. A plus that it had it's own free car park, and is adjacent to a bus stop to get into town to feed and quench thirst. Travelodge rarely do FnB well and here is no exception. Breakfast skipped, but taken at a rough and ready cafe close by for about half the price. All very Travelodge. Fine accommodation at a very reasonable price. Free on site parking a bonus. But, one more point; each staff met was a model for the chain. Polite, friendly, helpul. Exceeded expectations by Miles. Well done. Would I stay again? For the same business purposes, at the same rate? Definitely. For a cozy romantic break, probably not. So, for a Travelodge, 4.5 / 5.

AVOID IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A FAMILY HOTEL. We had an absolutely horrendous stay last weekend. It was so bad we had to check into a different hotel for health and saftey reasons. The room itself stunk of smoke. People have clearly been smoking in the bathroom as thre were stains around the fan. Around 5:30 pm we were going back to the room and the hallway was smoky. Someone was smoking in the room next door. I told reception who said they would check on it. But nothing was done. I woke up the next morning to the same smell. Reported again and was told that it was too early to deal with it. There were many other problems including what I suspect was a prostitute hanging around outside and in reception the night before and in the morning. I didn’t feel safe to stay with my 8 year old daughter, so we checked out and moved to a different hotel. The hotel is refusing a full refund, so am having to dispute the charges via my credit card.
