Family-run holiday park south of Durham with a tea room and holiday caravans

About Strawberry Hill Farm Camping and Caravan Park

Strawberry Hill Farm sprawls across working farmland a few miles south of Durham, offering a relaxed mix of touring pitches and static holiday caravans with open countryside views. The family-run site has built a loyal following thanks to well-kept facilities – modern shower blocks, electric hook-ups, and grounds maintained year-round – and a tea room serving homemade cakes and light meals that doubles as a handy social hub for those without cars.

Durham's cathedral city centre sits five miles north via the A177, while the Durham Heritage Coast at Seaham and Hartlepool lies within easy driving distance, making this a practical base for exploring both city and shore. Dogs are welcome across the touring areas, and the site's breadth of pitch types suits families and couples alike, though some visitors note the facilities can feel a little tired in places.

Excellent campsite. Decided to get the tent back out after 8 years to see if we still like camping and found this lovely campsite on my doorstep, brilliant decision. The campsite is well maintained, clean with everything you need to have a beautiful stay. The only complaint is I've put a few pounds on as the food in the tea room and Giddy up Bar was so nice. A big thank you to Adam, Louise and staff for making our stay extra special and you got a big paws up from our dog Malibu 🐾

This has to be THE best park me and my family have stayed at, the park its self if so well maintained the food fr the tearoom is unreal! Then onto the horse box! Just wow! All sorts of drinks available and the hot food served is to die for! The owners are so helpful and lovely i really couldnt recommend a better park with everything you need and more!\\nThank you strawberry hill farm for making out holidays the best ones!

Lovely site, stayed in camper van for 1 night but would have liked to have stayed longer to explore the area. Owners were lovely, the site was well kept with pop up bar and covered over area to sit and have a drink. Little cafe on site too. Dog walk at bottom right of site. Toilets and showers a bit dated but clean, and located on a main road so some traffic noise in background otherwise would have been 5 stars all round. Will definitely be back for a long weekend.

Very noisy A-road running right next to the campsite with speeding motorbikes kept us all awake for hours.\\n\\nThe pitch itself was right next to a road too, so no space for my young child to play and he had to be careful of cars driving past. No views either.\\n\\nA pretty rural location on the map so was disappointed with the lack of space and views and noise. I was hoping for a rural, tranquil escape.\\n\\nWasn’t cheap either!\\n\\nWe packed up and left after one night.
