Opening the front door of Brewery House Cottage reveals a properly equipped living space suited to a short break. The ground floor holds a sitting room with television and DVD player, and a kitchen with electric range cooker, dishwasher and washing machine—everything needed to cook or take things easy. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a double bed, one with twin singles. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower. The cottage is yours alone, with parking for two cars on site and a courtyard garden with seating and a barbecue.
Bishop Middleham is a small village an 8-mile drive from Durham city centre. The Cross Keys and other pubs are within easy walking distance, as is a village shop. Established walking and cycling routes run through the area. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are provided, along with initial fuel for the range. One well-behaved dog stays free of charge. No smoking throughout. The cottage does not suit guests who need ground-floor sleeping or bathroom facilities.
