Sycamore Cottage

County Durham

View on Google Maps

Lanchester village lies just 1½ miles away, where three pubs, an Italian restaurant and a fish and chip shop serve the local area. The River Browney walk—a scenic route that runs alongside the water down towards the village—starts from Sycamore Cottage itself. Broader afield, the hills of Teesdale and Weardale are under 30 minutes' drive, while Hadrian's Wall takes an hour. Cyclists favour the Derwent Valley Railway Path heading towards Durham, or the Waskerley Way running west into Weardale's open moorland.

The cottage is detached, ground floor and first floor. Downstairs you get an open-plan living space with a wood burner, sofa bed (double), dining area, kitchen with electric oven and hob, and a shower room. A single bedroom is upstairs. The kitchen covers basic cooking; an enclosed garden with sitting-out area and furniture provides outdoor space. Parking for two cars is on site. Essentials including Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are covered. One well-behaved pet stays free. No smoking indoors. The owners live nearby if you need anything during your stay.
