Oswin Lodge is a contemporary building set within private grounds near Consett, overlooking the Derwent valley. Everything happens on one level: an open-plan living space anchored by a wood burner, a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, and a shower room. The larger bedroom has a king bed, while the second contains zip-and-link single beds. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are provided, along with initial logs for the fire. You get a welcome pack on arrival, and robes and slippers for the hot tub outside.
The lodge sleeps six and is yours alone. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave and the rest—with a coffee machine for mornings. There's a lawned garden with patio furniture and a barbecue, plus a private hot tub that fits six people (available until midnight). Two cars can park on site. The property does not permit smoking.
From here, the River Derwent and its established walks are nearby, along with canoeing and kayaking opportunities through the local boathouse. Cycling routes branch out across the area. The village has restaurants and a shop within walking distance. The lodge suits families and couples looking for somewhere spacious to base themselves while exploring the surrounding countryside.

This was our second time at the lodges to visit nearby Beamish Museum and various sites along Hadrian’s wall. The lodges are excellent with all the facilities you could ask for. The lodges were great for our family of 4 (2 teenagers) with plenty to keep everyone occupied and excellent WiFi. The wood burning stove made the stay very cosy. The lodges are set in peaceful and relaxing countryside. Our lodge allowed us to dine /breakfast alfresco and then hop into the hot tub. The lodges are very well maintained and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We hope to come back again as we love Northumberland.

This was my 5th time staying at Vindamora country lodges. As usual my stay was wonderful. All the lodges are of a very high standard for a comfortable stay in beautiful Northumberland and include a hot tub. They are situated within an hour of some wonderful sights including Bamburgh castle, Alnwick gardens, Seahouses, Farne Islands and Cragside which is a wonderful National trust. Beamish living museum is only 20 minutes down the road. The manager Craig is extremely welcoming and has a great knowledge of the local area . I would highly recommend this place
