About Days Inn Michaelwood
Days Inn Michaelwood is a low-rise, two-floor motorway hotel built for practicality rather than charm, standing right at Michaelwood Service Area on the M5 near Dursley, Gloucestershire. With 39 rooms, it suits travellers who want a straightforward stopover rather than a destination in itself, and pets are welcome, which is useful for anyone breaking up a long drive.
Rooms are simple and geared towards convenience, with family rooms and accessible rooms available, plus drinks in room and free WiFi throughout. Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar, a snack bar, and breakfast is served on site, while business services and meeting rooms make it workable for those travelling for work. On-site parking is available but chargeable, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those who need it.
The service area location means restaurants and eateries are nearby as well, and there's a walking area for stretching your legs after driving. It also puts you within reach of Berkeley Castle and Slimbridge, making it a practical base for exploring this part of Gloucestershire without needing to venture far from the motorway.
Guests consistently praise this hotel for its spacious rooms equipped with basic necessities like baths and tea/coffee facilities. The friendly and helpful staff, excellent value, and convenient motorway access are also frequently highlighted.
Some reviews mention the rooms can be poorly maintained.
