Roddenloft - The Groom’s Cottage

The Groom's Cottage is an 18th-century building on a quiet country lane in East Ayrshire, sleeping six across three bedrooms and three bathrooms. One well-behaved dog stays free. The whole property is yours alone, with a private hot tub and shared access to a tennis court and croquet lawn with The Brewers Cottage nearby.

The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, and essentials like electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included. No smoking is permitted inside. Check-in is after 16:00 and checkout before 10:00.

The location works for several kinds of break. The Ayrshire Coastal Path passes close by—100 miles of walking with views towards Arran. The River Ayr Way, a 40-mile walk from source to sea, is easily reached. Within an hour's drive are Culzean Castle, Dumfries House, and Galloway Forest Park, which holds Dark Sky Park status. Golf features heavily in the area: Turnberry and Royal Troon are nearby. Ayr town centre is a short drive away, and the Scottish cities—Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling—make for day trips. Dogs on leads can walk most of the local paths.
