What visitors say
I first want to say I HAVE NEVER EVER left a bad review like this about a campsite before but..... Booked the stay MONTHS ago. Was supposed to be staying here for a week. Turned up after a 285mile drive. No one to be found. The "if no one is there please call....." board was wiped so no contact number. Called the land line we have from the contact and spoke to the elderly lady we booked with. She said to call the number, told her it wasn't there, she let me know they was "out with the sheep" and gave me a mobile which was one on the Facebook page. Called it no answer called again left voice mail. Called two more times, still no answer waited 30 minutes still nothing. We have left and driven over to Ayr. Got into a Park Dene resort place for a similar price but obviously has facilities like a pool and club etc. included. We are now over 3 hours later and still no one has called us back. Shame cause the location seemed good, the site was a bit "meh" but pitches looked well spaced all be it ALOT of seasonal/permanent pitches.

I would like to give a higher rating because it is a really nice site. However, tents are not granted access to electrical hookups. So for us that was very inconvenient as it meant no power for our fridge or heater. The WiFi only covers the main building (if it works) and does not reach the pitches. Some hooks to hang a towel or shelves would also be handy in the bathroom. Other than that we had a very nice stay. Toilets and showers are clean and there is a large community room with TV.

Quiet, rural & well maintained site. Very welcoming reception from staff and clean well thought out facilities for Motorhomes. Convenient Wash Dryer on honesty box arrangement. Beautiful rural setting. Well spaced hard standing gives privacy. Road nearby but traffic noise not unduly noticeable day or nighttime. Definitely a hidden gem of a place, family business, wish them every success. Would highly recommend and seriously stay again….even drop by on out way back home.

Great venue. Owner extremely helpful on arrival as it was our first time with a touring caravan. On site toilets and showers very clean. Lovely site near river Ayr and some great paths for walkers.
