Middlemuir Heights Caravan Park

Middlemuir Heights, Mauchline KA5 5NR, UK

A wooded, walled-garden park in Tarbolton village, a short drive from Ayr

About Middlemuir Heights Caravan Park

Tucked within the old walled grounds of Montgomerie Castle estate, this sheltered touring park offers a distinctly rural alternative to the coastal sites nearer Ayr. The wooded setting and village location make it popular with caravanners seeking a quieter base for exploring Burns country – Tarbolton's Bachelors' Club, where Robert Burns founded a debating society, is on the doorstep, and Mauchline and Kilmarnock are within easy reach.

Pitches come with drainage, water and electric hook-up, and there's dedicated tourer storage for those leaving vans between visits. Facilities include showers and a children's play area, while Sam's Bar serves as the park's social hub, welcoming both tourers and static owners with a separate family area. Dogs are allowed, and woodland walks start right from the gate.

Open most of the year (limited February closures), Middlemuir Heights suits those who prefer a sheltered, village setting over seafront bustle, though the wooded, estate character can feel a little dated in places.

A great place to spend my weekends.. we are very lucky to have found this wee hidden gem. We bought a small caravan in July 2016 and within 2 months upgraded to a bigger van because we love the place and the people, everyone is so friendly food in the heights is fantastic, (and the drink), great atmosphere.. And Paula and John who run around doing everything for everyone has made me love the park even more.. We will be here for a long, long time x

We had an excellent time spent at the holiday park and stay had all the amenities required for a family. Kids truly enjoyed park, bunk beds and toys at the stay. We would go again if visit Ayrshire. Reasonable scenic and place to walk around.
