Chaucer Rise is a detached house in a quiet residential area of Exmouth, East Devon's oldest seaside resort. The property sleeps six across three bedrooms: a double on the first floor with its own ensuite shower room, a second double, and a third room with two singles. There is a family bathroom on the same floor. Downstairs, the living room opens through patio doors to an enclosed courtyard with seating and garden furniture, while the kitchen/dining room has a gas hob, electric oven, microwave and full-size fridge and freezer for self-catering. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. There is parking for three cars on site.
Exmouth itself centres on two miles of beach and the Exe Estuary, popular with walkers and birdwatchers. Coastal paths run east towards high red cliffs and the Jurassic Coast; west takes you towards the quieter harbour side. Crealy Park is nearby for families. Within reach are the market towns of Sidmouth and Branscombe, the seaside village of Beer with its caves, and Seaton's river tram. By train, Exeter is a short journey along the estuary. Those wanting countryside can reach Dartmoor, or take a ferry to Starcross and walk to Powderham Castle. No smoking inside the property.
