What visitors say
Connect with what you love, Marie, and close family and friends, this is not the camping that first jumps to mind if you close your eyes. But open your eyes at Ridgeway and you'll be in for a great, super setting, location, facilities, vibe and ethos. Don't forget ear plugs for the dawn chorus in the longer days!

Thank you so much for sharing this special place with us! We've been camping as a groups of friends for over 30 years and have decided this is our favourite campsite ever. The location is spectacular, miles from any road or phone signal. The facilities are great and it was all well prepared and looked after. Its close to the ancient Ridgeway that crosses the country and has a special feel as its so close to amazing Neolithic sites like Avebury, Stonehenge and various barrows, where you can contemplate how much more evolved our ancient ancestors were than than we are today! Merry meet again.

We were several families, ages 4-84 on our 40th annual camp. We all had the most wonderful time at the campsite. Off grid camping with enough creature comforts (hot showers and compost loos) wood for the fire and coal for the bbq! Very magical place, kids had such a fun time playing, climbing trees and using the hammocks. Very well equipped where you only need to rock up with your tent! We will return! Thank you so much 😊

Wow, what an extraordinary location for a campsite. I was lucky enough to stay here with a group of friends recently, for walks and adventures along the Ridgeway. Almost don’t want to review it and increase its popularity as it’s so special as it is. The location is stunning, incredibly private and isolated in a magical valley with campsite nestled in the trees. We sung and drummed away much of the night without issue. You can walk up to the Wansdyke Path (south) and the Ridgeway (heading north) in no time. Long barrows and white horses galore. The facilities are lovely - compost loos and nice showers and a great kitchen/dining area. Would be great for groups of adults or mixed age families. Thanks so much to Maggie for hosting us, we loved it!
