Middle Farm Cottage

Middle Farm Cottage sits in Winterbourne Monkton, a mile from Avebury and its stone circle. The cottage has two bedrooms sleeping four: a kingsize upstairs, and two singles that can be zipped together. There's one bathroom with a bath and shower, plus a downstairs toilet. Heating is underfloor throughout, and a woodburner warms the living room on cooler evenings. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included.

Downstairs you have a living room with a Smart TV, and a kitchen with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and microwave—everything needed for self-catering meals. A separate bike store opens directly from the kitchen, handy for those planning to cycle the North Wessex Downs. The back garden has sitting-out furniture. On-road parking is available, and a travel cot can be provided. The cottage does not permit smoking.

Avebury itself is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the stone circle at its heart, a manor house and an archaeology museum. The surrounding footpaths make this a natural base for walking, whether you're after a morning stroll or something more ambitious across the Downs.
