The Cart Lodge

Walk through the door of The Cart Lodge and you're in one open-plan room—living area, dining space and kitchen all together on the ground floor. The bedroom is a double, and there's a shower room with a walk-in shower. Everything is on one level, which keeps things simple for a short break or longer stay. Essentials like bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating are provided, and the kitchen has what you need to cook: electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge.

The lodge sits in the grounds of Glevering Old Mill, overlooking the River Deben Valley. Out the back is a garden with seating and furniture, and you can park one car on site. The location is genuinely rural—deer, otters and a range of birdlife inhabit the valley—but there's a pub within walking distance, and several more in nearby villages like Framlingham and Ufford. Cycling routes run through the surrounding roads, and the coast, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is about 10 miles away. No smoking inside.
