About Ufford Park Hotel, Golf & Spa

Ufford Park is a modern golf and spa resort set in 120 acres of parkland on the edge of Woodbridge, built around an 18-hole championship golf course with its own driving range and adventure golf. Rooms and suites are contemporary in style, and many look out over the fairways and surrounding Suffolk countryside.

The resort's leisure facilities are extensive, with a full-service spa, a fitness club equipped with Technogym machines, and a swimming pool with family swim sessions. Dining ranges from the Waterside restaurant to the more relaxed Park Bar Restaurant, with terrace seating available in good weather and a dedicated afternoon tea service.

Ufford Park's out-of-town location and range of facilities make it a popular choice for golf breaks, spa stays and weddings, while still keeping Woodbridge's Tide Mill, museum and shops within a short drive for anyone wanting to combine the resort with a visit to the town itself.

This is a big hotel, with no air conditioning in the rooms so they were very hot. The fan we were supplied for our room only moved the hot air around. I know the heatwave was not the hotels problem but, in this instance, if we had not already paid for our room, we would have looked for somewhere else which did have air conditioning. The room was acceptably clean, linens and towels very clean but furniture is tired and everywhere looks like it could do with a deep clean. We were on a motorcycle and did not have a lot of packing space so we asked if we could borrow a couple of bathrobes just for the one night so we could go to and from the pool straight from our room. Upon asking at the Spa reception I was told very abruptly “No the robes are for paying spa guests only”. I was willing to leave a credit card deposit, and I was an overnight hotel guest but was told again very abruptly that no they were not prepared to do this. Very disappointing that nothing could be done as a one off for us. The breakfast was OK, however the restaurant had not been vacuumed from dinner from the night before. There was quite a lot of food on the floor and under the tables, ranging from chips to sweet wrappers to peas and lots of crumbs. We were constantly asking for the food to be replenished which seemed to take quite some time after each request. The waitress table clearing service was virtually non-existent; lots of tables were left uncleared for long periods of time and some did not get cleared the whole time we were having our breakfast. This was not worth the money we paid for our overnight stay.

With the money we spent, it was worthy for the night staying for sure. If you like to play a bit of golf and relaxing, I would definitely recommend you. Even better, it get a gym , swimming pool and relaxing treatment. it's definitely good for family to visit us well. Online research said it's updated and Reno in 2022. But we think it still very dated , still a lot to improve. But it definitely have a lot potential. Wifi quality really really need to be improved. Reception and bar staffs are friendly and greeting you well. But the meal service, the staffs need to be more efficient for cleaning and have more smiles on the face. A little bit background music for breakfast session will be even better.

It’s alright, nothing more. Room was nice, but the common areas of the hotel could do with a revamp as very dated and tired. Sauna was closed when I was there too which meant the ‘spa’ access with the room was a pool, a steam room and a luke warm communal hot tub. Balcony wasn’t cleaned between guests and the outdoor table and chairs were coated in moss. Only one poorly trained staff member on breakfast who struggled to clean and reset tables and keep an eye on breakfast items that needed topping up meaning I had to ask for cutlery, milk in the coffee machine, and pastries as those had not been noticed / replenished in a timely manner. Did get 2 free cocktails with our package, which were nice, but the staff seemed to have no idea that the package existed

Can only comment on the spa. It used to be so nice but unfortunately won't be going back again unless it gets sorted. Everything's broken. Hydrospa no jets work. Most of what was in the room is now closed off. Water had run out and no one bothered to fill it up. Toilets broken, dirty changing rooms. Staff forgot to put lights on so it got dark. No one looking after the place. Sad to see it go so downhill. Customer service was interesting! No common sense so nearly walked out. Had to point out that we needed help with a few things. Staff more interested in talking to each other than checking on guests. I guess that's because no training/lack of experience.
