About OYO The Strand Hotel
Royal Parade runs along Eastbourne's seafront, and OYO The Strand Hotel sits right on this stretch, with sea views from many of its rooms and the promenade close at hand. The hotel has 110 rooms, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms and drinks available in room. There's free WiFi throughout, a bar on site, and breakfast served each morning, with 24 hour reception for whenever guests come and go. Rooms are generally kept clean and comfortable, offering solid value, and the staff are consistently helpful. We stayed at this hotel from 21/06/2025 to 24/06/2025, and unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. The first major issue was that the lift was out of service throughout our entire stay. Our room was located on the 4th floor, and having to climb several flights of stairs multiple times a day after long days of walking was extremely difficult. This was particularly challenging as I am pregnant. The most disappointing aspect of our stay was the housekeeping service. During our three-day stay, our room was not serviced at all. The bedsheets were never changed, and rubbish was not removed from the room even once On the day of our arrival, the main light in our room was not working. Initially, we were told to use the bedside lamps because no maintenance staff were available that day. We were not satisfied with this solution, and after raising our concerns, we were eventually moved to another room. We also experienced repeated problems with the room key cards. On several occasions, the cards failed to work, meaning we had to return to reception to have them reactivated. This was especially inconvenient given the lift was not working. On our last day, one of the reception staff advised us to call him directly if the card failed again. When it did, he came to our room and unlocked the door for us. Another issue was with the shower, which was only dispensing hot water. Considering the very hot weather during our stay and the government-issued red weather alert, this was extremely uncomfortable. Fortunately, my husband has plumbing experience and managed to fix the issue himself. He informed reception afterwards, but no apology or acknowledgement was offered. Overall, our stay was far below expectations. We have travelled to many countries and stayed in numerous hotels, but this is the first time we have encountered so many issues during a single stay. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this hotel based on our experience.

Great value for money. Clean tidy contemporary rooms (I had a double sea view). Hotel is basic but sound. Stayed for more than a week. Friendly helpful staff, quality housekeeping daily, good location right on the beach and 10 mins walk to pier, 15 mins to town high street. Quite busy seafront road but I couldn't hear a thing when in the room. No aircon is the only negative, so it does get hot during the day. But night was cool enough.

Came in from LA to The Strand and the first person I met here was Ali. He was professional super helpful and just very positive. Made me feel like I was home. And the rest of the staff have been great. Nice cozy rooms. Location is absolutely perfect. Would highly recommend, and make sure you say you read the review from Morgan when you meet Ali.👍🏻👍🏻😃
