Betteshanger Park

Great place for a wander, a bike ride or a picnic. Has a Mining Museum too. Had no idea there were collieries in Kent!

Fun outing fossil hunting during halfterm. The guide was very helpful at describing what to look for and knowledgeable about the fossils. My daughter enjoyed cracking open the stones and was very excited each time she found the little bits of fern and leaves that they contained. I had fun smashing rocks with a hammer so whats not to like. It was very muddy so be warned! We had come prepared but lots of others didn't and I don't think they found it quite as fun. Had some lovely walks around after the fossil session too. Lots going on and will be back with bikes etc next time to fully explore.

We had our wedding here recently. It was FANTASTIC. Tyler was incredible, things went wrong, which was completely out of their hands, but Tyler got everything fixed and youd never have known. She had contingency plans in place too. I could not fault it, from start to finish. Her team was also amazing, Nigel was so lovely and helpful, everyone made us feel so comfortable. The venue itself is stunning, all of our guests said the same. It truly was a wonderful day, I have 0 complaints. The food, oh wow, was soooooooo good. We had so many of our guests say how amazing the food was too. Tyler went above and beyond and I couldn't be more grateful. Communication with her was incredible, she was very accommodating, friendly, she took over half way through of us planning the wedding and we are soooo lucky she did. The best day ever thanks to her and all the staff at Betteshanger!

Lovely discovery in Kent, England. A little tricky to find as it it is not in the village Betteshanger which was confusing and is very much outside the area. Great discovery and great re use of the coal mining area. Lots of parking provided as your time has to be paid for. Bikes available for hire to go around the cycling circuit provided. Interesting museum which is free to view and was a great insight and tribute to all the coal miners and people involved in extracting the coal from the deep ground. Very much enjoyed the restaurant with its mining connection vibe and the food, which was very tasty and reasonably priced. Toilets provided just outside the restaurant. There are all sorts of events taking place throughout the year which are posted, such as music festivals in the park and it's great just for walking around. Definitely going back for another day out to discover more. Staff were very helpful and polite.
