Sheltered East Lothian site with pods and frequent buses into the city
About Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site
Drummohr sits in old estate grounds near Musselburgh, seven miles east of Edinburgh and minutes from the Firth of Forth. Mature hedging breaks the wind and carves the pitches into sheltered pockets, making it quieter than the urban parks yet genuinely convenient for the capital. The setting can feel a little tired in places, but the transport links are exceptional: buses run every ten minutes through the day, reaching the centre in forty minutes, while Musselburgh station offers quick rail access to Waverley. By car it's twenty-five minutes outside rush hour.
The site takes tents, caravans and motorhomes across grass and hardstanding pitches, all with electric hook-ups available. Heated pods and lodges suit shoulder-season visits or anyone travelling light. Facilities include heated showers, laundry, a play area and a small shop, and dogs are welcome. East Lothian's beaches, golf courses and the coastal path at Prestonpans lie within easy reach. Prices start around fourteen pounds outside peak periods but climb steeply during the Festival, when advance booking is essential.

What visitors say
We have just stayed for 7 nights at Drummohr. We stayed on pitch B2, which was fabulous as it was kind of like our own little green island with no direct neighbours.\\n\\nAccess to the site was very easy, just off the A1, and arrival was very easy too, even accommodating us for an extra night.\\n\\nDuring the week the site was quiet but filled up on the weekend. That said, even with almost every pitch occupied the site was still beautifully quiet and everyone was very respectful of the peace and tranquility.\\n\\nThe staff on site were extremely polite, helpful and welcoming. The facilities were excellent, the toilet block was always beautifully clean (although I never actually saw it being cleaned - ninjas!). (A long mirror in the ladies toilet block would be a great addition?)\\n\\nThe whole site is very well kept and we enjoyed a stroll on the dog walk.\\n\\nThe site is well placed to get to local points of interest and the staff were very helpful with recommendations of places to go.\\n\\nAll in all it was a fantastic stay and we would definitely come again. Thank you so much.

Convenient for public transport in to Edinburgh and close to Musselburgh. The check in process was very efficient and so friendly and helpful. The toilet and shower block was modern and clean but the other block with baths (!) was closed for maintenance so I didn't see it. Looks like a decent little children's play area too - so often these are run down with broken or missing equipment. The pitches are well spaced out and flat. I really enjoyed a walk into Musselburgh via the links and there are plenty other walks nearby. I'll definitely be back!

Lovely place to stay! we stayed in a self catering bothie. The campsite itself is so nice and very quiet, the shower block and toilets are very clean and kept to a good standard.\\nThe location is perfect if you are going to Edinburgh just a 10 minute drive to a train station and a 5 minute train.\\nClose to a few villages with plenty amenities!\\nWill definitely be back to stay ❤️

This campsite is top notch! Well thought through layout, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, including the ice cream recommendations (the raspberry ripple in the campsite shop is DELICIOUS!!). There’s a wonderful little campers kitchen with vending machine, kettle, microwave, fridge and freezer for those who are traveling light! There were firepits available to hire, though we didn’t hire one it was great that this was an option. The WiFi seemed to work great, there were plentiful water and rubbish disposal points (including recycling), the washing up area was good with dispensers of washing up liquid and a food waste bin too. If I am being hypercritical- I would suggest that the toilet blocks needed to be larger. There were queues at times for both toilet cubicles and showers, and unfortunately towards the end of our stay the sanitary bins were overflowing- I had the impression that the site had been significantly busier than usual and this is perhaps an unexpected consequence of that. With that said, we booked to stay here after buying tickets to a gig at Murrayfield and this turned out to be an absolute gem of a campsite! A short stroll to the beach, bus and train links very close by. We 100% will stay here again!
