About Laichmoray Hotel
Laichmoray Hotel began life as the Great Northern Station Hotel in 1853 and retains much of its Victorian character despite continual upgrading, standing less than 300 metres from Elgin railway station on the edge of the town centre. Its 34 individually styled bedrooms range from singles to superior doubles and family rooms.
The hotel's bar is a particular draw, with an extensive wine list and a choice of more than a hundred malt whiskies reflecting its position in Speyside, while the restaurant and lounge areas cater for both casual meals and more formal dining. Function rooms and event spaces make it a popular venue for weddings and conferences.
Free parking in an ample car park and free Wi-Fi are provided throughout, and the hotel's location on the edge of the centre makes it an easy walk to the cathedral, museum and shops while remaining quiet in the evenings.

Stayed here for a night recently. Good parking out front and a great central location. Staff were nice and friendly, helpful when I had questions. Room was pretty standard, comfy double bed, decent sized modern bathroom with a good-sized shower. I had a desk, tv and coffee making facilities. Unfortunately, my room was above the kitchen, I think, so there was quite a lot of noise from some extractors and stuff, but it was off by bedtime so didn't disturb me. Because it was so warm, I did find the room a bit too hot, even with the window open. There wasn't any climate controls or fan. Restaurant was decent, had a fine meal, reasonably priced. Breakfast is ordered the night before on a card, but you get the option to have it in your room, to take away or in the restaurant. Was nice to get it in my room at a time of my choosing. Overall, a decent hotel which I would happily stay in again.

Stayed one night. It is a good hotel with really nice food and drink selections for dinner. The breakfast was really nice too and I couldnt fault anything.

I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I have had the pleasure to stay in. From check-in too departure I found the staff friendly, efficient and carried out their duties with the utmost professionalism. My room was well laid out, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The evening dinner was delicious and after completing my breakfast order and time selected the night before, my breakfast was served to my table with perfect timing. I would certainly recommend the Laichmoray Hotel to anyone wishing to visit Elgin or surrounding area. I for one will make it my first destination the next time I'm in Elgin.
