About The Meadow House
The Meadow House is a contemporary bed and breakfast on the High Street in Burwell, around six miles south of Ely and within easy reach of Cambridge and Newmarket racecourses as well as the cathedral city. Set in two acres of wooded grounds, it offers a more spacious, rural alternative to staying in central Ely itself.
Rooms are fitted with king-sized beds, and a family suite includes a south-facing balcony overlooking the gardens, making the property a practical choice for families as well as couples. Breakfasts are a particular strength, with generous, home-cooked English options served each morning.
A large private car park makes arrival straightforward for anyone travelling by road, and dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, adding to the property's appeal for visitors wanting a quieter, more spacious base a short drive from Ely, Cambridge and Newmarket.

What guests say
Please do not stay at any of these properties. We rented Garden Cottage when we turned up the place was filthy, taps didn’t work, shower did not work, hair everywhere and a bed in the dining room. We like others had massive problems getting our money back. The company is affiliated to no one. We visited the bed and breakfast to try and find the owner it was scary and eerie! The owner call me a liar and a serial cheat. Accusing me of ripping of people like her for a living. Sadly the people who own this are too old to manage and they have lost touch! I am going to try and contact the relevant authorities to try and get this place and their other houses shut down. PLEASE read reviews STAY AWAY!

Just to add , they always ask for cash , yes are you paying cash , if so I can do it for less says Hilary lol . Now I wonder what the books look like lol as they clearly do not declare correctly what they take ! There an established guest house apparently , so why ask for cash prior turning up , it should be an option not a request every time . As I say , how unprofessional , something that needs to be relayed to the inland revenue because now after speaking to other former guests , it's obvious the cash gets lost because no one sighs for anything lol , and we're not talking pocket change here are we Hilary ? You'll get what you deserve I hope because no lies have been told here , let's get this place looked at !!!!

Dirty, filthy place. Our room was like something akin to 1970's Blackpool. One dirty plastic spoon and a plastic drinking vessel with someone else's toothpaste rinse out still in the bottom. No milk, just 1970's coffee mate and dead flies and spiders in the windows. A hearty breakfast was promised, but very basic. Nothing basic with the charge tough £80 a night, extortionate. Had we not arrived in early evening we would have walked out. Was so ashamed to take my wife to this place. After a couple of nights back at home I e-mailed these people with my concerns and they haven't had the decency to even acknowledge. Beware, be very aware

Very well priced. Comfortable. The decor may be a little dated BUT it is clean and comfortable. Very cool indoors in spite of warm weather. Parking on-site available. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. For the price, it is excellent.
