Meadow View Camping and Caravan Site
Wicken, ELY CB7 5XH, UK
Well-equipped fenland site in Wicken, ten miles from Ely
About Meadow View Camping and Caravan Site
Meadow View sits on the edge of Wicken village, around ten miles south-east of Ely and close to the National Trust's Wicken Fen nature reserve. The site offers eight pitches across level grass and hard-standing, all with electric hook-up, plus free showers, toilets, water points, WiFi and a small shop. Dogs are welcome at no extra charge. For those without their own kit, there's a four-person timber glamping pod with futon, bunks, television, microwave and kettle, alongside three static caravans available for nightly rental.
With Ely's cathedral around ten miles away and Wicken Fen within easy reach on foot or by bike, it works well both as a fenland retreat and as a quieter, slightly more distant alternative to camping closer to the city itself. Though the facilities are functional rather than fancy, the location and welcoming setup make it a solid base for exploring the fens.

Incredibly poor experience. Booked five nights at this hotel, expecting a lovely week away with my kids. When arriving, we were given our pitch as normal. However, the facilities at this place are an utter joke. If you want to go into the main washroom area, it looks like a scene out of the 1900s. Sinks rusting, stains forming and dirt everywhere. They have another block on site, a little wooden hut. Inside, the facilities are just as basic and as outdated as the others. Rarely has any toilet paper or soap, and has no lighting for the darker hours. Utter disappointment. No accessible facilities on site that you can access, and the owner is never around to unlock them. When the owner is around, we found that he is a major complainer. He was shouting at my children, telling me how to parent myself, and complained every second he could about nothing at all. If you’re going to run a campsite, be welcoming, not a depressing moron shouting at my 7-year old boy. Won’t be coming again, and would not recommend. The only highlight of this trip was leaving the place.

Extremely basic site. I didn't feel safe as a lone camper in my tent. Not many people there and mainly a storage site. Facilities work but drastically need updating. No meadow view that I could see. Not the owners fault but I was very frightened by a man who seemed extremely angry and shouted and seemed to be banging or kicking things in his caravan until 4.00am. The sole other tent occupants left during the night!! Wicken and the fen is lovely though !!

Absolutely awful. Shower/toilet didn’t use took one look disgusting definitely in need of a very deep clean. Site in need of a good tidy up. The noise from Road ( which I fully except he can do nothing about) was like trying to sleep on the M25 full of boy racers. If I could get away with it I wouldn’t even give it 1 star.

We stayed at camping pod for one night. Everything was perfect. Thank you to Owner, he was friendly and helpful. We are already thinking to visit this place again.
