About Premier Inn Falkirk East

The Kelpies are just a short trip from Premier Inn Falkirk East, and with the M9 close by, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling are all within easy reach for a day out. Golf, fishing and horse riding can be arranged nearby too, along with a scattering of local pubs and restaurants for evenings away from the hotel.

The hotel itself has 60 en-suite rooms spread across two floors, served by a lift, with accessible rooms available. Rooms are generally well kept and comfortable, though some can run warm, so it's worth bearing in mind in summer months. A 24 hour reception means arrival times are flexible, and free on-site parking takes the hassle out of driving in from the motorway.

On site there's a restaurant and bar, with breakfast served each morning and drinks available in the room. The mixed grill and calamari come recommended by those who've eaten in, and staff are consistently described as friendly and professional. It's a straightforward, well-placed base for exploring central Scotland rather than a destination in itself.

The accessible room was up a slope and as far away from reception as possible. This made it much harder to report the unacceptable noise from the children jumping off the bed on the floor above. On our first night, we ate at the restaurant. There were only us and a group of 3 men sitting near us. Despite this, our bill showed their drinks added to ours. The following night was busy and the staff simply couldn't cope. Rather than have one person taking the orders and others dealing with drinks and a third dealing with the billing, it was chaos and the bus driver of the tour group Happy Tours became loud, abusive and rude to everyone, including other guests. All because he felt the staff were 'incompetent ' as he had not been served at all. Whilst his actions and behaviour was not acceptable, several others in their tour group were still waiting for their food after 30 minutes. Yet again our own bill was incorrect and I could have walked away having paid only a few pounds instead of the Meal Deal price for two. As for the room, there are no instructions as to how to use the thermostatic controls, nowhere except the floor to rest the toiletries for the shower, making it a falls risk. This was my first ever stay at a Premier Inn. Not very impressed.

Rooms clean and comfortable, but a little bit too warm. Staff were very friendly but short staffed in the restaurant. Waited nearly 45 minutes for first course and a further wait for desert after reminding the staff that we had finished the main course 30 minutes earlier. The waitress admitted that the kitchen had forgotten about us. The quality of the offerings including the breakfast was very average. In conclusion, rooms were very good but eat off-site.

Convenient hotel due to its location. Ample parking, comfortable rooms and very helpful staff. The meal deal is good value, but unfortunately the hotel is so UNDERSTAFFED that, despite the staff trying their best, resulted in one hour waiting for dinner to be served in a nearly empty restaurant. Breakfast was decent and no wait because it is a buffet.

I stay here regularly and it's always excellent customer service. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. My children and I love staying, especially as kids eat free for breakfast. The meal deal package is well worth the £26.99/day and relieves the stress of worrying about affording food. The location is great for the motorway and lots of local attractions as well. We will be back in 4 weeks for another action packed weekend.
