It's a straightforward, unpretentious hotel with 30 rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and drinks available in-room, aimed at travellers who want a reliable place to sleep rather than a destination in itself.

What guests say
Had to pay extra for parking Receptionist not very welcoming. Room ok nothing special but not terrible. Told breakfast service 8-9am even though info in room said 7.30 - 9.30am. reason given not many guests staying. But then the worst part was breakfast. Poor buffet selection, half grilled undercooked tomato. Mushrooms horrid over cooked , scrambled eggs not even scrambled and the toast one piece very thin white, hardly toadted. Not much coffee, as nearly pot needed filling but was close to end of service and too late to make more! 8.45am. Then someone went into kitchen I think employee possibly off shift ? and very loud conversations taking place. Not at all relaxing fo a Sunday morning.

A couple rooms was booked and we were very much delighted with the experience at the hotel. A double bed was provided which was very much comfortable and we had booked this hotel for an educational session for 4 days and it was with a penny. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. There was room service for breakfast and the breakfast was very good. Room cleaning was done everyday and cleanliness was never a matter for us. Overall I would give a 5 out of 5 for the hotel.

Thank you to the staff for their friendliness and excellent service. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless, the room and dining room was very clean, the breakfast was superb. More than adequate parking. Some of the hotel's fittings and decor were looking a little tired, but I didn't have a problem with this, it seem to add character to the retro vibe of the hotel, which reminded of childhood holidays in the late 1970's/early 1980's. I would certainly book rooms again at this hotel if I need to stop overnight in the area.

Staff was friendly and considerate and let us check in two hours early as our flight landed early. The room, however, is small, dirty, and VERY dated, with a smaller (though comfortable) bed. Bathroom is updated and shower is fine, but WiFi was slow and only worked half the time. We asked for a different room, which is a first for me, but were told none were available. Parking in the unkempt, tiny lot is £10 a night, which seems silly, as there’s free parking around. There isn’t a shortage of hotels in the area, so I wouldn’t stay here again. It’s a pity, because I can see it has potential.
