The points are for the fantastic location, ease of getting kayaks etc into the water and the reasonably priced cafe. Points deducted for only two showers for the whole campsite! No codes given, then wrong gate codes given. Half the time the toilet door codes didn't work. Dogs running off lead on campsite and no one to be seen to sort this out. Forgot to get security refund, can't do on the phone. This really could be somewhere special, but just misses

Pro's: - Large camping field with well-maintained, flat surface - Plenty of nature and wildlife nearby with easy access to woods and canal - Excellent cafe, especially breakfast options and ice-cream - Boat hire service to explore the canals by kayak/canoe - Very secure site with coded access to gates and facilities Con's: - Poor toilet and shower facilities - only 2 showers is too few for a site of this size. Most of the toilets were out of order during my visit, and those that were available were not particularly clean.

Great place to launch our paddle boards, plenty of free parking, however it does get busy later in the morning / afternoons. Lovely paddle down the canal towards Ash and back again. Highly recommended for paddle boards and kayaks!

Lovely little area to visit. Access to the canal for small cafts. no gradual launch as of Aug 2026. There's a loo with shower, cafe and enclosed playground too. We enjoyed a lovely, calm family day with paddling down the river. Everything we needed within close reach
