The Old Baron’s Courthouse

Fife

You step straight into an open-plan living space that spans the entire ground floor of The Old Baron's Courthouse. A converted courthouse dating to the 17th century, the building sits in Ceres, a village built around a rare green, surrounded by period character and quiet charm. The layout is straightforward: living area with Freeview, dining area, and kitchen with electric oven, hob, fridge and dishwasher all in one flowing space. Two bedrooms branch off—one with a kingsize bed, one with a single—and there's a bathroom with bath, shower, heated towel rail and toilet.

The cottage is yours alone, with free parking on site. Essentials are covered: wi-fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with heating for the colder months. No smoking inside. The village itself rewards a wander; the Fife Folk Museum explores rural life, and a 17th-century carving of a grinning man with a drink is said to show a former provost. Hill of Tarvit Mansion and Gardens lies nearby if you want formal grounds and views. St Andrews is a short drive away for beaches, golf, and its famous university. The wider Fife coast and walking routes are all accessible from here.
