About The White Lodge Hotel

The White Lodge Hotel suits travellers after a relaxed, traditional seaside stay rather than a lively city break. Set on The Crescent in Filey, it has 20 rooms, several with sea views and balconies, and works well for couples, families or anyone happy to slow down and let the coast do the entertaining.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, and there's a restaurant and bar on site serving cooked breakfasts and a Sunday roast, along with room service, drinks in room, and packed lunches for days out. Practical extras include free WiFi, a lift, laundry service, 24 hour reception, luggage storage, family rooms, meeting rooms and a garden, plus free on-site parking. Staff are attentive and the rooms are kept spotless, and the hotel is generally considered good value.

Filey itself is a short distance away, and Scarborough Castle offers a nearby point of interest for those wanting a day trip. Golf, fishing, walking areas, and further pubs and restaurants can all be found nearby, making it an easy base for exploring the North Yorkshire coast at a gentle pace.

Enjoyed every minute, everything perfect. We had a lovely room with a balcony and sea view which was very clean and tastefully decorated. Staff were kind and helpful, food brilliant (my partner is vegan and this was taken care of); nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend.

We stayed here on 12th June after completing The Yorkshire Wolds Way. Lovely hotel great food, fabulous room with balcony. Hotel receptionists were both friendly & helpful. The only thing that let the stay down a little was a couple of hiccups with restaurant service & a slight fly issue in the restaurant/ food areas which I am sure could be easily dealt with.

We're regular visitors to Filey but usually stay in an apartment because I like a sea view and prefer to be on the seafront. Unfortunately there are no hotels on the actual seafront in Filey. Decided to try this for a change as we only wanted a short stay. Parked across the road free unlimited parking though it gets busy. Lovely warm welcome from reception on arrival I booked a sea view room with a balcony. The room was light and very tastefully decorated with a big bathroom containing a bath with shower over and nice toiletries. Unusual not to get bathrobes in a hotel at this price range. Plenty of sockets including USB sockets. Kettle, tea and coffee. The balcony was large with a table and chairs which we used a lot because we were lucky with the weather. Fabulous view but in need of some tlc and more comfortable furniture. It was also tricky to access as there was a notice telling you not to stand on the step, not sure why but assumed it was fragile. I'm reasonably fit but it was very awkward to try and step over the step and someone less agile might fall. Breakfast was in a large room with plenty of space. Super efficient service. Cereals, fruit, yogurts, toast and a choice of cooked breakfasts. Personally, I don't like a fried breakfast and would love some fresh crusty bread but they only had sliced. We didn't eat dinner, plenty of restaurants in Filey but remember to book before you travel. What would improve it? A fan, face flannels and bathrobes. A mini fridge. Crusty bread rolls for those who don’t want a cooked breakfast. Will definitely return. If the weather is good the balcony rooms are a must.
