Pickering Castle and the North Yorkshire coast are both within easy reach of The Old Pottery, a converted property in the heart of town. The castle itself draws plenty of visitors, and coastal paths from nearby Filey lead to some of the region's most rewarding walks. A pub sits within a mile, and the beach is similarly close.
The property sleeps six across three bedrooms and has a bathroom with bath and shower, plus a separate shower room. One bedroom has a king-size bed with an en-suite; the other two have single beds each, and the second can be configured as a super king using a zip-link system with advance notice. The ground floor holds the main living space—open-plan with a kitchen that's properly fitted for self-catering, a dining area, and a lounge with a 40-inch smart TV. Underfloor heating covers the ground floor; radiators heat upstairs. You have the whole place to yourself, and one dog is welcome.
Electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. There's an enclosed patio with garden furniture, and parking outside for loading (street parking is available thereafter). The property does not permit smoking.

What guests say
Very nice place to stay but in need of a good clean and a lick of paint and remove broken fixtures and fittings, fix cupboard doors, and make sure surfaces are clean for new guests. This place has so much potential.

A very spacious house which must've been beautifully rebuilt about 15 years ago and has a lovely split-level interior. Location is good and it has parking for a couple of (small) cars. I would give it 5* if the owners could give it a decent refresh - whilst everything worked (and it was reasonably clean) the whole property needs a serious refresh/repair with lots of minor things fixed.
