About Full Moon Inn
The Full Moon Inn sits in the hamlet of Lower Rudge, a few miles from Frome towards the Wiltshire border, in a building that began life as a cider farm around four hundred years ago. Its five hotel rooms were fully renovated in 2023, each with an ensuite bathroom and a comfortable, homely finish rather than a formal country house style.
The pub itself looks out over the western edge of Salisbury Plain and the Westbury White Horse, with a large enclosed garden and terrace that is both dog and child friendly. Food and drink centre on local ales, ciders and seasonal pub dishes, making it as much a destination for a meal as an overnight stay.
Its rural, slightly elevated position makes it a good base for walkers and those exploring the Somerset and Wiltshire border country, while remaining a short drive from Frome, Trowbridge and Bath.

What guests say
We have just returned from our third stay at the The Full Moon Inn. The 17th-century historic building is beautiful and has been renovated to a very high standard, perfectly blending original character with modern luxury. The room was spacious, featuring high-quality finishes and incredibly comfortable beds. We ate at the restaurant on a couple of nights and the food was outstanding, especially the freshly made, cooked-to-order breakfast. Located in a quiet rural setting yet close to local attractions and convenient as a stop over for longer journeys, it's the ideal base for a peaceful country trip. The staff are attentive and friendly, making you feel right at home. We will definitely be back ....

We stayed here stopping off on our way to Cornwall and what a gorgeous find. When we arrived, the pub had such a welcoming atmosphere, dogs and kids running around. The room was clean, newly refurbished with everything we needed. Breakfast in the morning was superb. Thanks for a great stop off!

Absolutely excellent in every way. The rooms were really nice and well provisioned with good quality items and toiletries. There were even lovely little bottles of real milk in the fridge. The bed was incredibly comfortable . The rest of the Inn was equally nice. Food was local, fresh and well prepared. Service was perfect.

Just returned from staying here and we were so impressed with this hidden gem. Rural location but not far from the A36 and just 15 minutes drive from Longleat. We loved both the character of the building and the contemporary/classic interiors. All you need to have a comfortable stay and many well thought of touches in our room that we did appreciate. The food was great too. We enjoyed a generous breakfast (included) and two delicious evening meals plus local cider (very drinkable!). The staff were all friendly, helpful and genuinely nice people.
