Marchfield Annex

Wiltshire

Marchfield Annex is a self-contained apartment on the first floor above a garage, set on a quiet lane in the Wiltshire countryside near the Somerset border. The accommodation is all on one level: an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area that opens onto a small balcony, plus a double bedroom and shower room. You'll need to climb 13 steps to reach the property, so it's not suitable for anyone with mobility difficulties. There is parking for two cars on site.

The kitchen is equipped for cooking proper meals, with an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge. The living space has Freeview TV and a DVD player. Wifi, electricity, bed linen, towels and heating are included; you also have the use of the owners' washing machine and freezer. One well-behaved pet stays free. The garden and balcony are yours to use, and there's a bike store if you're bringing cycles.

This is a genuine base for exploring the area. Bridle paths start on the doorstep, making it excellent for dog walkers. The historic market town of Frome is nearby and hosts a farmers market each Friday. Longleat House and its safari park are a short drive away, and Bath—with its Roman baths and thermal spa—is 40 minutes off. A shop, pub and restaurant are two miles away.
