About Buttercup Farm Certificated Location

Lincolnshire bound and looking for an adults-only hideaway? Set up for Caravan and Motorhome Club members only, Buttercup Farm is new for 2025 and sits in the quiet hamlet of Heapham, 10 minutes' drive from Gainsborough. This rural spot has far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside and an up-close view of neighbouring Sturgate Airfield, which has been in use since World War II and is now used by private pilots and aviation enthusiasts. From your super-spacious pitch—hardstanding or grass, both with optional electric hook-up—you can easily spend hours watching the planes taking off and landing.

The surrounding countryside has ample off-road public footpaths for walks, so any accompanying dogs will be very content indeed. Historic market towns and the stunning Lincolnshire coastline await, and there are plenty of restaurants, pubs and cafés in Gainsborough. Closer to hand, you have a fish and chip shop, cafés and a couple of pubs within five minutes' drive.

Beautiful site! A small, friendly site, with large pitches! Beautiful countryside views, and also next to a small airfield, so we enjoyed watching the planes take off and land! Amazing wildlife around, we watched owls in the early evening, hares in the fields and saw a couple of deer! Clean site and well laid out! Electric hook up for our caravan, drinking water and waste disposal, all kept clean! So quiet, both in the day and in the evenings! Lovely walks locally and some lovely villages nearby! Mark & Donna the owners were very friendly and welcoming! Fresh eggs were also on sale! Highly recommend to anyone! Will return with our dogs next time!

We really enjoyed this CAMC CL members only site. It is a small and peaceful adults only and dog-friendly campsite. We really liked the location - nearby footpaths, views of the airfield (although there was only one take off while we were there and as nerds we would have enjoyed seeing more planes!), proximity to Gainsborough and pretty villages. The site has drinking water, pay-as-you-use EHU, chemical toilet disposal, general waste, and recycling waste. There are no toilets or showers so you will need to have your own. There's a small honesty shop and information shed (eggs, loo chemicals, and a book/DVD swap). The site is well maintained with neat grass and gravel. We liked the practical touch of a large square of moveable artificial grass on the hard standing pitches - used as a mat next to the van it meant less gravel bits got inside. Pitches are well marked and you can book a specific pitch. We didn't meet the owners as they were away during our stay, but the email communications from them were timely, friendly, and informative. We plan to return soon!

A fantastic CL site. The site itself was very clean and tidy. We spent a lovely afternoon relaxing and watching lots of small planes taking off. The hosts were very welcoming and full of local information. We used this site as its so close to the Lincolnshire Showground and definitely would return if we're in the area.

We had a lovely 8 night stay over the Christmas break and were very impressed. Donna and Mark made us feel very welcome, with useful information on where to walk the dogs locally. Nice village walks, peaceful lanes, great beaches not too far away. Nice hardstanding, easy access, a quiet site with lovely open views. We will be back I'm sure. Graham and Caroline
