Fancy somewhere cosy and comfy to stay in Somerset during Glastonbury Festival? Sitting on Pennard Hill above Sticklinch, The Lazy Shepherd is an immaculately maintained shepherd's hut on a small dairy farm – an adults-only escape far from the madding crowd but only 10 minutes' drive from the festival site in Pilton. Festival-goers note: Gate D is about 45 minutes' walk away.

Thanks to spectacular views to Glastonbury Tor and the Quantock Hills, this fully insulated, private hut with its own fenced garden (secure for accompanying dogs) overlooking open farmland is a find for visits any time of year. With a sheep-themed design as befits its name, the hut sleeps two, has a king-size bed and a sleek modern mini-kitchen with chiller fridge, kettle, toaster, electric oven and microwave. It's heated by woodburner, and the exclusive-use shower room is a few short steps away.

There's no TV or wifi – just bags of fresh air, a wooden deck to chill on and easy access to Mid Somerset walks and bike rides. Your only neighbours will be heifers in the adjacent yard in winter and grazing the fields in summer.
