Let me start by saying this site has amazing potential however there were a few things that weren't so amazing for me. I paid £35 a night (non-electric) which feels quite expensive for what I had. When I arrived the field was completely empty (that's fine) but I didn't have a clue where I was meant to go and hadn't had any instructions sent over. To be fair the owner answered the phone straight away even though she was out. The pitches are mown which is a nice touch however they're all at the top of the hill and not the most level- not a massive problem for me in a tent. What was more of a problem is that the top of the field is a real wind tunnel whereas theres no wind at all at the bottom where you can't pitch. The wind was so bad one night it ripped my windbreaker and I had to sort it out at 2am, no sleep for me that night! The toilets are nice and having a flush is a real bonus, my first night there was only me and so plenty of loo roll however by night three this hadn't been replenished and by now there had been 8 units using the facilities during my stay. The field is absolutely huge but because you can only pitch at the top I felt like it was very crowded and people were on top of me by the end of my stay, in fact I actually left the night before planned due to this as it no longer felt secluded and peaceful. The showers were also tepid at best. Be warned there are phone charging facilities as advertised but it's £1 per hour of use which feels steep to me (I didn't need to use as I often go off grid and have powerpacks). There's literally only the lake within roughly a 20 minute drive and the roads are twisty and narrow so it makes doing anything a good few hours worth of the day, also you CANNOT swim at the lake which was a real disappointment for me as that was a massive part of booming- that'll teach me to check the information better! All in all I wouldn't stay here again but it is a lovely location.

A little piece of paradise, even when I bailed on my bike, tore my arm and knee up, I was promptly taken care of by Denise, applied first aid allowing me to enjoy the rest of my stay. All the staff were super friendly and attentive, I hope management appreciate them to the degree they should. We’ll be returning this summer!

Absolutely beautiful little site, really Lovely location. Great little park for the children with the most awesome rope swing! The site has everything you need, very clean showers and toilets with rustic charm. Freshly made pizza night was amazing. We will definitely return had a beautiful week here.

Two nights there on a weekend. It would be a lovely place in Bright sunshine with kids playing on dry meadow grass. We had to park on gravel as grass was wet, toilets and showers are outdoor in sheds with no heating and only three quarter doors so they were filled with leaf debris and stuff blown in. Showers temp was basically tepid, combined with half a door, it was freezing. Saw no one at all from site whole weekend. Expensive too at 70 quid for two nights. Oh and entrance gate banged in the wind. Toilets also had three quarter doors so in the rain, you did get a free cold shower. Close to the entrance of the country park which has a lovely campsite, from what we could tell. Also no elsan disposal, grey water couldn't be emptied as I would have needed a bucket, no hose for water. More acceptable if it was a 15 quid a night aire, but noway is ita full service campsite which is what you exoect at this price.
