A visit to Greenwich Park is always worth it. Today, my good friend and I visited as tourists for the day, although both long-term London residents. We set off late morning, and quickly noticed that many others had the same idea! It didn't spoil it for us one bit. For hours we walked up, down, flat, and sometimes paused to enjoy the scenery and people-watch. Later, at the Pavilion Cafe, staff were immediately welcoming, despite it being a busy period. There's a superb array of food & drinks too - and it was assuring to know that it's also part of the Royal Parks. On our clipper boat back to Central London, we shared how fun it was being tourists for a day! This time I took too few photos, but hope you get the picture! 📸

Greenwich Park is undoubtedly one of the most iconic spots in London, where history meets the best views in the city. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, it offers a perfect mix of vast green landscapes and world-class maritime history. Standing at the top of the hill by the Royal Observatory, I was absolutely mesmerized by the panoramic views of the Canary Wharf skyline and the River Thames. The park is the perfect place for a long walk or a quiet afternoon picnic. Exploring the Prime Meridian line and seeing the historic architecture of the Old Royal Naval College from above was a highlight of my trip. It is a rare spot where you can feel the city's modern energy while being surrounded by centuries of heritage. Top Tips for your visit: • The Viewpoint: Head straight to the statue of General Wolfe near the Royal Observatory for the most famous and Instagram-worthy shot of the London skyline. • The Prime Meridian: While there is a fee to go inside the Observatory, you can find a small section of the Meridian line nearby to stand in two hemispheres at once! • Maritime Greenwich: After enjoying the park, walk down to the Cutty Sark and the Greenwich Market for some amazing local food and crafts. • Getting There: The easiest way is via the DLR to Cutty Sark or taking a scenic Uber Boat (Thames Clippers) to Greenwich Pier. Greenwich Park is a must-visit for anyone who wants to see a different, more majestic side of London. It’s the perfect end to my exploration of this incredible city! 🌳🔭
