Bod Eithin

Photo: Daniel S

Bod Eithin is a large detached house built to take groups comfortably. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms spread across two floors mean space enough for twelve people without cramping. Downstairs holds two bedrooms—one with a double and bunk beds, the other a double with its own shower room. Upstairs, a third bedroom combines a double with a single, served by an ensuite, while the fourth bedroom has three singles. A full bathroom serves the upper floor too. The main living spaces include a sitting room with a 50-inch television and a kitchen-dining room large enough for the whole party to gather. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; wifi keeps people connected when needed.

The house sits on the edge of Harlech, within walking distance of the village's four-mile sandy beach backed by dunes and protected as a nature reserve. Harlech Castle overlooks the grounds from above. The enclosed garden has furniture, a firepit for barbecues, and a private hot tub. One well-behaved pet can stay free of charge. Parking is provided on the property. The location suits families, groups of friends, or anyone wanting to explore this corner of Snowdonia National Park, with the coastal path and hills nearby. No smoking inside.

The Shrews

They cancelled a family booking with a few days' notice. Leaving 10 people stranded, and really poor service. Avoid unless you want to play roulette with your booking

The house was in a great location, had beautiful scenery and lovely large bedrooms with the luxury of a hot tub. The bathrooms were a great size. My only complaint was when staying here I slept in the single bed that was in the upstairs room with the double and I did not sleep well at all, the mattress was well worn and you could feel the metal springs through it… I expected more for the price of the property, some of the crockery needed replacing too.

What a beautiful place! In each direction there is something special. North, from the large garden is open fields with an overview of Snowdon and the mountain ranges. East, a view of harlech Town with the castle sticking out proudly South, views of the wide open golf range West, a short walk to the beautiful beach. The house is gigantic and clean we all enjoyed ourselves and will be back for sure!
