You arrive at Hen Dy into a ground-floor living and dining space anchored by a large inglenook fireplace with a wood burner—the kind of focal point that invites you to settle in for the evening. The kitchen sits alongside, equipped for proper cooking rather than holiday-flat scrambling. Upstairs, a spiral stone staircase (tight in places, with a low ceiling on part of it) leads to two bedrooms: one with a kingsize bed, the other with two singles. A single bathroom serves both. The cottage dates to 1550, its timbers verified by dendrochronological dating, and retains original features throughout.
Hen Dy stands in rural Gwynedd, ten minutes from the coast at Black Rock Sands and within reach of Snowdonia's upland walks. The enclosed garden has a barbecue and furniture; beyond it lie 90 acres of shared farmland where fishing is possible in the river. A pub sits a mile away on the main road. Essentials including Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are provided; initial logs for the burner come with the cottage. One dog is welcome. The spiral stairs and tight headroom mean families with young children or those with mobility concerns may find access challenging.

Really clean and well equipped...1 room accessed via outdoor steps , steep and dangerous then need to come outside and down to use bathroom, not good at night , or when pouring with rain
