About Gyfyng Smallholding

Occupying 31 acres of woodlands and open fields on the banks of the Afon Dwyfor, Gyfyng Smallholding sits at the edge of Eryri National Park, 15 minutes from Porthmadog. Two colourful bell tents (sleeping up to five) each come with their own sheltered cookhouse, pub table and firepit – perfect for keeping the Welsh nights at bay. Facilities are simple but thoughtful: composting toilets, showers, and renewable energy throughout.

The real draw is what surrounds you. Wild swim in the river or woodland pools, climb Craig Gyfyng for sunset views over Cwm Pennant valley and the sea, or pick from hiking trails that lace the landscape. Beddgelert Forest's mountain-biking routes and climbing paths up Yr Wyddfa are half an hour away. Anglers can fish for trout and salmon in the lower river (permit required), while families might prefer a seaside trip to Criccieth's pebbly beach and ruined castle, or sandcastle-building at Morfa Bychan – both within 20 minutes.
