Maes Ffestiniog
Gwynedd
You arrive at Maes Ffestiniog to find a traditional stone cottage with exposed walls and a slate fireplace, the kind of place that feels immediately lived-in. The ground floor is one open room: sitting area with wood burner and TV, kitchen with dishwasher and all the basics for self-catering, and direct access to a private garden. Upstairs, one bedroom has a double bed, the other has bunks; the bathroom is modern with a shower and heated towel rail. Bed linen and towels are provided, along with WiFi and electricity.
Blaenau Ffestiniog sits in the heart of Eryri National Park. The town is known for walking trails, mountain biking routes, and underground slate caverns you can explore. Snowdon is within reach for a day, as is Betws-y-Coed. A pub is within a mile. The garden gives you somewhere to sit with a coffee before heading out, or to decompress afterwards. The cottage itself is no-smoking.
