I would strongly advise avoiding this place. We booked two rooms for one night, costing £220 in total, but ended up leaving after approximately one hour because the accommodation was simply not acceptable. The rooms were dirty, there was a strong damp smell throughout that made it difficult to stay inside, and the shower was not working properly. We did not feel comfortable staying the night, so we left shortly after arriving. The most disappointing part has been the customer service. At the property, we were verbally assured that we would receive a full refund due to the condition of the accommodation. However, despite multiple emails since then, we have received no response whatsoever. We have also contacted Booking.com in an attempt to resolve the issue. It's incredibly frustrating to be promised a refund in person and then be completely ignored afterwards. We gave the property the opportunity to resolve this directly, but the lack of communication has been extremely disappointing.

This is a hard one, it's a beautiful site . There are loads of things to do. Back in the day whenever this was it would have been spectacular. Now it's still good but dear goodness the accommodation stinks. The carpets needs changed, the walls need to be stripped of the already peeling paper and the walls need washed to get rid of the smell of milldrew and damp. All furniture needs replaced too. The main house is the same. Every room smells the same. Everything I have brought back, which is unworn, as I washed clothes there, stinks . I don't know why the business failed and it clearly did. I can't recommend going there however that's just me as it was busy . It's up for sale and I hope the buyer spends the cash fixing it up . I didn't look at reviews before I went which is unlike me. They seem to all say the same . I will say the apartment was big. Rubbish the pool closed at 7.30 but I hope this was because they cleaned it . I would gladly pay double what I did if you fixed all this.

I think whoever owns this is bent on destroying the business. The staff are very nice locals but the place is crumbling around them and the owners clearly don't care. I'm local and have always used the facilities since childhood on a membership but I cancelled my membership because the sauna broke 3 years ago and they just never fixed it. I think they probably don't want to spend the money on electric either but it really was the only thing really going for the place at that point so when that broke and was just left abandoned it really made the place redundant for locals as the sauna was the main draw. Wouldn't stay there if I was visiting either much better places locally and the amenities aren't even usable as it's all broken and just left to rot.

If you don’t like rats stay clear. The grounds are littered with them as big as the rabbits! Couldn’t open the patio door for fear of them getting inside. Wi-Fi is dreadful with little or no connection. Accommodation needs a good clean and looks like it’s not been done in months. Don’t lift up the settee cushions or check behind the bed side cabinets.
