Plas Talgarth – Woodland View 1 suits families and groups after space and entertainment on one level. The open-plan ground floor has a living area with a 55-inch smart TV, a separate dining space, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. Three bedrooms sleep six: a zip-and-link kingsize (which can split into singles), a double, and a bunk bed. Two bathrooms – one with a bath and shower, one with a shower cubicle – mean mornings are less rushed.

The property sits within the grounds of Plas Talgarth Resort, a parkland spread with woodland on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park. Guests can use the indoor swimming pool year-round, an outdoor pool from May to September, and book the tennis court. Mini-golf, table tennis, snooker, football and basketball are available (most at a cost). A steam room, sauna and whirlpool add to the on-site facilities. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and electric heating are included. You have parking for two cars and a small garden with a seating area. One well-behaved pet is welcome. No smoking indoors.

Walking the resort grounds takes up time on quiet days. Beyond the gates, Talyllyn steam railway is seven miles away, and Dolgoch Falls – known for waterfalls and scenery – lies 15 miles further. The Welsh Falconry Experience offers sessions with birds of prey. A pub and restaurant operate on-site. The property is not suitable for guests who smoke.
