The Nantgwynant Valley sits at the heart of Snowdonia, surrounded by some of Wales's most dramatic mountain scenery. Red Dragon Cottages - Sygyn is a two-bedroom base right in this landscape, positioned between two lakes and within walking distance of one of the main routes up Snowdon itself. The Watkin Path starts just 300 metres away; alternatively, the Llanberis railway up the mountain is a 25-minute drive. Beddgelert village, with its shops, cafés and ice cream parlour, is minutes away by car.
The cottage sleeps four across two bedrooms—one with a double bed, one with bunks—each with its own shower room. The ground floor has a living and dining space with a wood-burning stove and Freeview TV, plus a kitchen with electric cooking. A washing machine and tumble dryer are in an external utility room (coin-operated, shared). The garden has a patio area. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included.
The location suits walkers and families wanting to explore the valley's network of trails, paddle board or kayak on Llyn Dinas, or visit nearby attractions like Sygun copper mine and Llechwedd Slate Caverns. One dog is welcome, though must be kept on a lead in this sheep country. The property is no-smoking.
