Rosemear House
Gwynedd
Criccieth's coastline pulls in walkers, beach-goers and anyone drawn to the Welsh shoreline, but few properties command the views that Rosemear House does. Built on a clifftop within a Site of Special Scientific Interest, the house sits metres from the edge, its walls of glass framing Cardigan Bay and the drama of the coast below. The Welsh Coastal Path runs nearby; a short walk takes you into Criccieth itself, where pubs and shops cluster around the seafront.
Inside, the architecture is deliberate and modern. Three bedrooms, all with king-size beds, and three bathrooms spread across the house. The main living spaces are arranged around floor-to-ceiling windows—a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, an open-plan dining and sitting area where you're constantly aware of the sea beyond. The master bedroom comes with its own roof terrace, useful for morning light or evening quiet. Electricity, bed linen and towels are provided; you'll need to arrange the rest. The property is yours alone, sleeping six across the three rooms.
The cliff setting—a 12-metre drop with fencing and hedging in place—is both the draw and something to factor in. Families with very young children should consider whether it suits them. Smoking is not permitted inside. Check-in is after 16:00, departure before 10:00.
