Salfur

The cottage itself was lovely, in a perfect rural location, near the sea, but high up. Stunning views and easy enough access (if you don't mind country roads). There were alot of rules to abide by, e.g. don't eat anywhere but the kitchen, and don't touch the blinds (labels on various objects around the house). Heating was adequate, if not a little warm in the kitchen compared to other rooms due to the hot plates. Unfortunately, the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom windows were either dusty or mouldy. Mould you can expect in old stone cottages, but the blinds in the kitchen were caked in dust. However the rest of the house was clean enough. Check in was okay, with a phone call before hand to over some of the rules and the code to the key safe. Check out was interesting. I was running behind on checking out, whereby I'd managed to get our stuff and the kids out, packed and in the car, but i hadn't yet started on hoovering and sweeping. A lady turned up at the door at 10 sharp, who i explained the situation to. The rooms were empty and clean, but I'd not done the floors yet. She said it was fine, as she'd need to do that anyway. I offered to do it, and offered to take the excess cardboard away as we filled the recycling bin, but she said it was fine. 30 minutes later, the owner called, with an unpleasant tone. She asked where the remote was, which i explained was in the living room but may have fallen down the sofa. She said they couldn't find it and that we'd left the place a mess. I explained that the only thing i hadn't done is the floor, and that I'd explained it to the younger lady at the door. Her response was that the lady was really upset, and then asked us why we moved the Xmas tree. I explained that we moved it to put presents under it. She said she would call the lady back and explain where the remote might be. The owner was rude and unprofessional. So we shall not be recommending the place, purely on that.

Perfect little station for us as a family to stay and visit the local beaches and surrounding countryside. We loved our time at Salfur. 1 week just flew by!!

Place needs a good clean, garden a total disgusting, all electrical equipment needs pat testing all out of date ,furniture is probably 20 years old and very uncomfortable and very disappointed WIII NOT BE RETURNIN also the bathroom needs some attention
