About Woodchests Glamping
Woodchests Glamping occupies a peaceful corner of a fifth-generation family farm near Pebmarsh in rural Essex, where five luxurious safari tents sit beside mature woodland and a fishing lake. Each spacious tent comes fully equipped with a well-appointed kitchen corner, ensuite shower room, covered deck and thoughtful extras like a woodburner and pizza oven-barbecue combo – perfect for alfresco evenings. Generous spacing between pitches ensures proper seclusion, while the open-plan living areas and ample storage make for comfortable extended stays.
The surrounding countryside delivers scenic walking straight from your tent door, with abundant wildlife to spot and the local village pub a pleasant 25-minute stroll away. Guests consistently praise the tranquil setting and attentive family hospitality, earning the site a five-star rating. Do note you'll need to bring your own towels, and firewood beyond the initial complimentary box incurs a small charge from the on-site wood store.

Yes Comments about this property We stayed and hired the 3 available safari tents. This was for a family stay including children of all ages. This was the most perfect get away, no phones just laughter peace and family games. I would highly recommend to stay here. We are already planning our return visit. The shed filled with games was the perfect touch and not to mention how comfortable and clean the bed were. Steve and Clare run the most beautiful farm and could not be better hosts! Thank you very much! Tips for other travellers Lovely walks to the fishing lake and pub.

Had a lovely time as it was first experience of glamping , Safari tent was well equipped. Lovely furniture, comfortable beds. We were very lucky with weather. Countryside was a lovely walk to Kings head pub with delicious food. Lots of activities to play ball games on spacious field.

Stayed for a couple of nights and loved this place. The tents are comfortable and very well equipped and the location is great. Lovely and secluded and peaceful. It's a nice walk cross country to Pebmarsh for a pub lunch. The only small thing that could possibly be improved is the outside pizza oven/BBQ is not the easiest for actually barbecuing for 6 people but we would 100% return and plan to!
