About Byrdir House
Byrdir House is a large Victorian sea captain's house on Harlech High Street, in the heart of the town's conservation area and around 350 yards from the castle. Run by Adam and Tracy Hammond, the licensed guesthouse has built up more than a century of history welcoming visitors to the town, and today offers a mix of en-suite and standard rooms with flat-screen televisions and USB charging points.
A full Welsh breakfast is served each morning using local produce, with vegetarian, gluten-free and halal options available on request, and the house has its own small bar for residents. Free on-site parking for up to ten cars is a genuine advantage in a town where parking can otherwise be difficult to find.
Byrdir House is particularly popular with golfers using Royal St David's, which is a ten-minute walk away, and with walkers heading into the Rhinogydd or along the coast path, thanks to its central position and straightforward, unfussy comfort.

Visited tonight for dinner at the Pie House. We had a very warm welcome and the service throughout the evening was outstanding. Meals are pre-booked from a fantastic selection of pies, including vegetarian and gluten free options. Six of us tried a variety of different pies and all were declared delicious! The chips and vegetables were excellent and plentiful too. Highly recommend a visit.

My partner and I fancied a quiet trip away (out of season) and found Harlech whilst searching for the perfect place to stay. I couldn’t recommend this place more - Tracy and Adam were absolutely brilliant hosts. Really kind and caring, they even wrote us down local suggestions and places to visit. The room was so clean and had everything you need, with refreshments and toiletries replaced when needed. Beautiful views of the coast too! Breakfast was included in our price which was nothing less than delicious - both continental and cooked options which were both absolutely lovely. If you’re looking for a base for your north wales adventures, I couldn’t recommend Byrdir house enough! 🖤🏴

Adam and Tracy were an amazing hosts, rooms were clean , with fresh towels, water and biscuits replaced daily. Byrdir House has a good location to visit Wales , we travelled to Snowdonia and many other places from there. Breakfast was good, although I noticed an expired yoghurt which was on display throughout our stay (6 days). Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay and I would recommend Byrdir House to anyone who is looking for something on a budget with a good location.

A fantastic stay. Loved the area, great centre point for walking activities. Accommodation was in the bungalow, superb with the bonus of a robin visiting every day. Amazing hosts, great pies and just an overall great experience.
