Black Rock House

I felt like a spoiled princess during my stay at the Black Rock House. The amount of thoughtfulness imbued into every aspect of the visit, from the biscuits that accompany evening tea (refreshed daily) to the high-end toiletries (also refreshed daily), makes this feel like a holiday home for royalty. Breakfast was like something from a 5-star restaurant, the bed and its dressings were luxury-grade, and host Vincent is a wealth of local-level knowledge about not only Hastings but a number of other destinations in the greater area (including where to park!). The home is historic and beautiful but fully modernised for comfort (excellent water pressure and temperature, noise dampening materials, never saw ever single fly or cobweb) and remarkably close to all sorts of sights and activities. We didnt need to use the car even once for exploring Hastings. I can't wait to return.

We stayed one night with my father and my two brothers. Charming old house, very well maintained. Welcome drinks, personalized advice, Vincent's flexibility (earlier breakfast just for us), comfortable room with everything we could need... It's these little touches that make this place special. And what about breakfast? The best we had in England! An address to remember. Thanks a lot Vincent and see you!

Myself and my husband stayed at Black Rock House for 2 nights. It is definitely an exquisite place to stay. 5 star boutique experience. Vincent is a diamond, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. places to eat and visit. Places to park if we ventured out. If I could give Vincent 10 stars I would. He is just a really genuinely nice man. Breakfast was lovely and set out on a grand table and its nice to sit with other guest's and have a chat. We will definitely come back if we come to Hastings again. Thanks again Vincent xx

By far, one of the best B&Bs that we've stayed in! Rooms are wonderfully decorated, spotlessly clean, and comfortable! Bathroom was large and comfortable with clean towels and plenty of hot water. View is outstanding, eclipsed only by the breakfast! Outstanding breakfast, fit for a king! Thanks to Vince and his partner for doing such a wonderful job at hosting. Check out the reads against the wall in the dining room! I've read most of them and can say that they are all really great books. Recommendation: Book a room if available. You won't regret it!
