Small family-run rural site near Bodiam, nine miles from Rye
About Stalkhurst Camping and Caravan Park
Tucked into the quiet countryside near Ewhurst Green, this small family-run park offers a genuinely rural retreat among trees and open fields, well away from the crowds at Camber. Campers appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and friendly welcome, though a few note that facilities, while clean, can feel a touch basic and the site itself shows some signs of age in places.
With Bodiam Castle just a short drive and the wooded valleys of the Rother on the doorstep, it's well-placed for walkers and cyclists exploring the Kent and Sussex Weald. Pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes come with electric hook-ups, and the straightforward, low-key approach suits those after simplicity rather than entertainment.
Rye's cobbled streets and restaurants lie about nine miles away – an easy drive or longer cycle – making Stalkhurst ideal if you're happy to travel for the buzz of the old town but want somewhere properly quiet to return to at the end of the day.
